We can build websites in two ways, the traditional way “from scratch” or by using a Content Management System (CMS).
- With traditional development, we code the web pages using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) to specify the content, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to specify the appearance and colors, and possibly JavaScript programming to include features like animation and input validation. With this method, the pages can be completely customized and more features can be included, but development usually requires more time, and maintenance usually requires a Web development professional.
- Development using a Content Management System is appropriate if your content will change frequently and you want your own personnel to maintain it. With a CMS, we would work with you to select an existing template available with the CMS, and development is usually faster that it is with the traditional methods. With a CMS, a “blog” can also be included. Our own site, including a blog on the Home Page, was developed with the WordPress CMS.
Whether developed in the traditional way, or by using a CMS, we will work closely with your company to be sure that the design and resulting product meets your needs precisely and is attractive, functional, and easy for your audience to navigate through.
If you require viewer interaction with your Web pages, we can design a custom MySQL data base and include PHP programming features such as secure user logins and passwords, data base searching and viewing, and fill-in forms for data updates or for viewers to contact your company online.
